Lemmy Set To Rock The Vogue

Just announced, fresh off the presses, Lemmy is bringing Motorhead to Vancouver. On February 7th, 2011, Mr Kilmister will be rocking the walls of The Vogue Theater, (BUY TICKETS). The last time he was in town it was nothing less that an all out riot at the exact same venue. With seats being ripped from the ground, and some attendees being escorted out with bloody noses and alcohol fueled rage. I would expect nothing less from this unkillable cockroach, and his metal minions.

Opening the show will be Clutch and Valient Thorr, who both have aggressive stage shows. This will be a show you will not want to miss. If you have any love for heavy metal, this is a must see.

From the press release:

“MOTÖRHEAD is rock ‘n’ roll. Rock ‘n’ roll is MOTÖRHEAD. There isn’t much else left that can be said about one of the loudest, brashest and influential rock bands to ever exist, but the adulation has continued unabated for over three decades, even to this day. There is still no other band like them, and their legion of fans continues to grow with every generation.

Throughout their colorful career, MOTÖRHEAD have done everything their way, and their forthcoming album, The Wörld is Yours, finds the band in full control, choosing to release it on February 8, 2011 through their own label (MOTÖRHEAD Music). Even MOTÖRHEAD’s iconic front-man has become the subject of the acclaimed documentary LEMMY (releasing on DVD , which gives fans a look inside his universe, as well as insight from a wide assortment of musicians, from Dave Grohl to Ozzy Osbourne to Mick Jones. Since its screening at South By Southwest in March 2010, the film has further proven than without Lemmy and MOTÖRHEAD, there will likely never have been something called heavy metal.

But rock cannot be contained on disc or film – it needs to survive and thrive live on stage, which is where the relentless touring machine of MOTÖRHEAD continues to go. This 2011 tour brings the legends together with two equally original and uncompromising acts to create a jaw-dropping line-up.

Maryland’s CLUTCH is one of the most musically adventurous and intelligent bands around, fusing heavy metal, hardcore punk and hard funk around a common blues core unlike any other group. Since forming in 1990, CLUTCH has gone from independence to major label life and back to independence, releasing their new live DVD, Clutch Live at the 9:30, through their own Weathermaker label.

Several of the members of Chapel Hill’s VALIENT THORR hold masters’ degrees, but they’ve given them up in pursuit of rock ‘n’ roll. Signed to Volcom Entertainment, VALIENT THORR have toured relentlessly throughout North America and Europe, alongside acts such as Mastodon, Joan Jett and Eagles of Death Metal. Since their formation in 2000, they have released five albums, including their latest record, Stranger, in September 2010.”
