The Killers have been powering through the years, with a series of extremely well thought out, well orchestrated albums. It has long be disputed who truly was to blame for their success. The front man, Mr. Brandon Flowers, tried answering that question by releasing his first solo album, Flamingo, earlier this year. This compilation makes a bold statement with its sound. That statement is – Brandon Flowers thinks he is the Killers.
The album bolstered a ten track listing with the deluxe edition offering up an additional five tracks. This was more than likely a marketing gimmick to double the sales. If you can sell fifty thousand units to fans, well then splitting the album in two should double your sales. In the end it didnt work out that way, it just meant most people only heard 10 of 15 songs.
The songs are dancy, and electric, and express the deep pondering of a man yearning for attention. The division in the Killers fan army goes as so, people who like their dance hits, and those who like their darker rock hits. Ultimately what Brandon Flowers released is more of that pop driven, club styled sound. It is more personal, and carries a little more individual spirit with it, but it is not that darker side.
If you are eager to check him out and see what he can deliver live, well its a win-lose situation. The good thing is Mr.Flowers is playing the Commodore Ballroom on November 15th. The bad thing for you is that it is sold out, sorry. If you are an avid concert addict, and want to periodically check for ticket drops, check here (BUY TICKETS). Those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets, will surely be in for a stellar show, as this man can cater to a crowd. He is a true front man and owns the stage.
