Gorillaz, the Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett creative entity, is coming to Vancouver. Tomorrow night Rogers Arena will be taken over by this grouping of pure genius. Their music is intriguing and unique, their stage shows are mystical and spoke about as if pure legend. The hush-hush nature of this conglomerate, gives them cult like status. But their is good reason, they are phenomenal.
In an age where every band is trying to gain popularity, this band does what it can to stay off the radar. They rarely tour, they say out of the papers (well as much as possible) and they keep their live shows on the down low. This dynamic keeps them on the lips of the hipster community. One thing that the hipsters do, is develop die hard infatuations. The Gorillaz have so many music connoisseurs in love with them, that it makes them the “it” band. But they earn it, their sound is original and defines its own genre.
So this begs the question, what are you doing tomorrow night? Well if you want to enjoy a rare live show by one of the most relevant bands of our day, time to buy a ticket.
